Allen Mountain & Whitewater Rafting ADK Adventure (July 2026)

Climbing Allen Mountain is no joke, requiring hikers to cover over 19 miles and 3,600′ of elevation gain. Due to its remoteness and steep climb, Allen is one of the most difficult High Peaks to complete. Although this is great type 2 fun, we want to make the most of our travels. So we are adding to the adventure with a whitewater rafting trip on the Upper Hudson River.

Accommodations

We will be staying at the Blue Ridge Motel. Includes continental breakfast. Trip price is for double occupancy rooms. If you prefer a single occupancy room, please contact us.

Itinerary

Thursday 7/23: Travel to Schroon Lake, check-in, evening “briefing”.
Friday 7/24 : Climb Allen Mountain (19.6 miles, 3600′ elevation)
Saturday 7/25: Whitewater Rafting Trip
Sunday 7/26: Check-out, travel home

Costs

$699 per person ($719 if paying by credit card) includes double occupancy room at Blue Ridge Motel, continental breakfast, whitewater rafting trip, and guide services with NYS Licensed Guides.
We will hold a pre-trip Zoom session to go over logistics.
Travel and food (dinners, lunches, and trail snacks) are the responsibility of the participants.
Registration deadline is June 1, 2026.

Checks must be received within 2-weeks of purchase to secure a spot on the trip unless special arrangements are made.

Trip Notes

This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Outside Chronicles reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual’s participation.  Outside Chronicles reserves the right to adjust the trip itinerary to match the skills, abilities, and goals of the group.

Prior hiking experience is required. Participants will be screened to make sure they meet a minimum fitness level to make the trip successful and enjoyable.

Good physical condition, proper clothing, proper footwear, and proper equipment are a must.

Cancellation Policy:

A full refund minus the 3% payment processing fee will be given for a cancellation requests prior to the registration deadline (6/1/2026). Payments are NOT refundable past the registration deadline.

A minimum number of participants is required for this trip to run.
