Beginner Adirondack High Peaks Trip
Dreaming of climbing an Adirondack Mountain? This trip is designed specifically for first-time mountain climbers eager to reach their first summit.
We’ll take on some of the more accessible peaks in the Adirondacks, but don’t be fooled—these hikes are no walk in the park. You’ll face the challenge of climbing significant elevation over rugged terrain.
The effort will be worth it as you’re rewarded with breathtaking mountain views and the unforgettable accomplishment of reaching the summit.

Accommodations
VRBO Property in Keene, NY. Hikers will be assigned a king bed, queen bed, a twin bed, or bunk bed based on the group. Some rooms have multiple beds. Property has 4 bedrooms & 3.5 bathrooms, washer & dryer, full kitchen, grill, & patio.
Itinerary
Thursday 6/19: Travel to Lake Placid, check-in, evening “briefing”
Friday 6/20 : Climb Big Slide Mountain
Saturday 6/21: Climb Wright Peak
Sunday 6/22: Check-out, travel home
Costs
$699 per person ($719.99 if paying by credit card) includes bed at VRBO, dinner Friday and Saturday, and guide services with a NYS Licensed Guide.
We will hold a pre-trip Zoom session to go over logistics.
Travel and food (dinner Thursday, breakfasts, lunches, trail snacks) are the responsibility of the participants.
Registration deadline is April 1, 2025.
Trip Notes
This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Outside Chronicles reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual’s participation. Outside Chronicles reserves the right to adjust the trip itinerary to match the skills, abilities, and goals of the group.
Prior hiking experience is required. Participants will be screened to make sure they meet a minimum fitness level to make the trip successful and enjoyable.
Hikers can choose to do one or both mountain hikes.
Good physical condition, proper clothing, proper footwear, and proper equipment are a must.
Cancellation Policy:
A full refund minus the 3% payment processing fee will be given for a cancellation requests prior to the registration deadline (4/1/2024). Payments are NOT refundable past the registration deadline.
A minimum number of participants is required for this trip to run.
