Footprints in the Wilderness Meetup

Footprints in the Wilderness was started as a dog friendly hiking group. Our members generally enjoy all outdoor activities. So even though its primary purpose is hiking, we are open to all outdoor activities. Walks, paddles and bike rides.
We make it fun, every event is like a meet and greet. Making new friends is always an adventure. We also do hikes with FOOTHILLS and do challenge hikes. So come hike with us to have fun, make friends and explore WNY.

Foothills Trail Club

The Foothills Trail Club was founded in 1962 by a few hikers and outdoors enthusiasts who wanted to build a trail from Allegany State Park to Lake Ontario. Our trail is called the Conservation Trail. It extends 180 miles from Pennsylvania through Western New York to Niagara Falls where it connects with Canada’s Bruce Trail. We hike every weekend and a few hikes during the week. The southernmost 68 miles of the Conservation Trail are also part of the Finger Lakes Trail which extends across the Southern Tier from Allegany State Park to the Catskills.

We hike every weekend and hold walks or saunters during the week. Our hikes appeal to all levels, featuring easy-to-moderate and strenuous hikes. We also hike WNY Hiking Challenge routes.

The Foothills Trail Club maintains the trail through State and country parks as well as private property. Respecting the trail and land-owner property is extremely important to our club. We also organize several trail work parties per year. Our events include a spring dinner, trail maintenance meeting, national trails day hikes, a fall potluck, and board meetings every other month.

Please join our trail Family on a hike.
