SUMMARY:Winter Adirondack Mountain Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Winter in the mountains is a special time. I like to say\, “No mud\, no rocks\, no bears\, no bugs\, & fewer people.”  However\, winter mountaineering requires a higher level of fitness and specialized gear. This Adirondack High Peaks trip is designed for intermediate to advanced High Peaks hikers with excellent hiking fitness. \n3-Season High Peaks experience and proper winter gear (see checklist) are required for this trip.   \nWe recommend mountaineering-style snowshoes like MSR EVO\, REVO\, or Lightning\, Tubbs FLEX\,  or Atlas Helium. \nWe will enjoy two days of climbing to winter summits. The itinerary is dependent on the group and the weather. The proposed climbs are: \n\nCascade & Porter Mountains\nWhiteface & Esther Mountains\n\nOther potential mountains are: \n\nPhelps Mountain\nBig Slide Mountain\nGiant Mountain & Rocky Peak Ridge\nLower & Upper Wolfjaw Mountains\nCatamount Mountain\nHurricane Mountain\n\n* Mountains may change based on the group preferences and weather.
