DESCRIPTION:Dreaming of climbing an Adirondack Mountain? This trip is designed specifically for first-time mountain climbers eager to reach their first summit. \nWe’ll take on some of the more accessible peaks in the Adirondacks\, but don’t be fooled—these hikes are no walk in the park. You’ll face the challenge of climbing significant elevation over rugged terrain. \nThe effort will be worth it as you’re rewarded with breathtaking mountain views and the unforgettable accomplishment of reaching the summit. \nLet us guide you on your first Adirondack adventure! \nWhat’s included:\n\nAccommodations at the historic Adirondak Loj\nBreakfast Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\nLicensed\, insured NYS Guides\n\nWhat’s not included:\n\nDinners\nLunches and trail snacks. Trail lunches can be purchased from the Loj.\nTransportation to Lake Placid\nGratuity for your guides\n\nAccommodations\nWe will be staying at the Adirondak Loj at ADK’s Heart Lake Program Center. Our group is occupying the 12-person co-ed loft. Each participant will have a single bed and use of the shared bathrooms. Parking is included. \nItinerary\nThursday 6/25: Travel to Lake Placid\, check-in\, evening “briefing” and optional Mt. Jo hike.\nFriday 6/26 : Climb Phelps Mountain (9.2 miles\, 2\,200′ elevation)\nSaturday 6/27: Climb Cascade and Porter Mountains (or other) (5.6 miles\, 2\,287′ elevation)\nSunday 6/28: Check-out\, travel home \nCosts\n$649 per person ($669 if paying by credit card) includes bed at Adirondak Loj\, parking\, breakfast Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\, and guide services with a NYS Licensed Guides.\nWe will hold a pre-trip Zoom session to go over logistics.\nTravel and food (dinners\, lunches\, and trail snacks) are the responsibility of the participants.\nRegistration deadline is May 1\, 2026. \nChecks must be received within 2-weeks of purchase to secure a spot on the trip unless special arrangements are made. \nCheck for $649 should be made out to:\nOutside Chronicles\n3997 Tudor Place\nHamburg\, NY 14075 \nTrip Notes\nThis trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Outside Chronicles reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual’s participation.  Outside Chronicles reserves the right to adjust the trip itinerary to match the skills\, abilities\, and goals of the group. \nPrior hiking experience is required. Participants will be screened to make sure they meet a minimum fitness level to make the trip successful and enjoyable. \nHikers can choose to do one or both mountain hikes. \nGood physical condition\, proper clothing\, proper footwear\, and proper equipment are a must. \nCancellation Policy:\nA full refund minus the 3% payment processing fee will be given for a cancellation requests prior to the registration deadline (5/1/2026).
