PEAK Training

Why do we climb mountains? It’s hard work, both physically and mentally. We climb because the rewards make it worthwhile. Standing on top of a mountain is a life changing experience. Our new 8-week fitness program will get you ready to climb your first PEAK.

We call it PEAK because we will help you increase your Physical Endurance and Knowledge to climb your first mountain.

PEAK will:

  • prepare you for the miles and elevation necessary to climb a mountain
  • provide you the knowledge to select the proper gear, hydration, and nutrition for your climb
  • increase your confidence to make your first climb a success

Students will get exclusive access to our Beginner Adirondack Mountain trip June 27-30. If you want to tackle a mountain on your own, we will recommend first mountains based on your goals, skills, and abilities.

Who’s this program for?

PEAK is designed for the first time mountain hiker.  You have enjoyed hiking the more difficult trails in WNY and want to take your hiking to the next level. You are serious about your fitness and have a strong desire to reach the top of a mountain.

PEAK is designed for the intermediate mountain hiker that needs to get refocused to tackle some peaks this summer. We can always find ways to push you to achieve your goals.

  • At least one training hike per week
  • At-home workout program
  • Weekly suggested hikes
  • Optional onsite workouts and training hikes throughout the program

Program Schedule

May 1: Orientation
Week 1:
May 6 – May 12
Week 2: May 13 – May 19
Week 3: May 20 – May 26
Week 4: May 27 – June 2
Week 5: June 3 – June 9 (PEAK Hike)
Week 6: June 10 – June 16
Week 7: June 17 – June 23 (PEAK Hike)
Week 8: PEAK Week

But what’s a PEAK Hike? These are longer, more challenging hikes on the weekend that will test your physical and mental readiness for the mountains.

Sample Week Schedule

Monday – At-home Workout (Strength+Walk)
Tuesday – At-home Workout (Strength+Walk)
Wednesday – Evening Group Training Hike (Chestnut Ridge Park/Devil’s Hole State Park/other)
Thursday – Rest/Mobility
Friday – At-home Workout (Strength+Walk)
Saturday – Suggested Hike or At-home Workout (Cardio)
Sunday – Rest/Mobility

Cancellation Policy:

A full refund minus the 3% payment processing fee will be given for a cancellation request more than 7 days prior to the scheduled event. A 50% refund minus the 3% payment processing fee will be given for cancellations less than 7 days but more than 48 hours prior the scheduled event. No shows or cancellations less than 48 hours of the scheduled event will not be refunded.
